Trefz, Patricia 'Pat' Kay

Patricia “Pat” Kay Trefz, 76, of 1166 Monticello Rd., Coggon, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital, from complications of Parkinson's disease. A celebration of Pat's life will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at the Trefz farm. Burial will be at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Dick of Coggon; her children, Randy (Doris) Trefz of Vinton, Cherie (Kevin Kula) Dunn of Coggon, Gary (Annette) Trefz of Coggon, and Gail (Brad) Winn of Walker; two sisters, Carol Peyton of Shelbyville, Ky., and Sandra (Ron) Wright of Nixa, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and three grandsons.

Pat was born Feb. 21, 1936, the daughter of Wayne and Ruth (Claney) Penningroth in Monticello. On Jan. 25, 1953, she married Dick Trefz at The Little Brown Church in Nashua.

Pat was a member of The United Parish in Coggon. She took great pride in her family and especially loved her time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in Pat's memory to the Parkinson's disease Association: Iowa Chapter of APDA, P.O. Box 507, Waukee, IA, 50263.
