Lelah L. Peet, 85, of Guttenberg, and formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019, at Hawkeye Care Center in Dubuque. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019, at Zion Presbyterian Church in Coggon. The family will greet friends one hour before the service at the church. Inurnment: Coggon Cemetery, Coggon. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City.
Lelah was born on Feb. 10, 1933, in Coggon, Iowa, the daughter of John and Josie (Candler) Franklin. She was a graduate of Coggon High School. Lelah married Richard Peet on Sept. 22, 1951, and he passed away in November of 2010.
She is survived by her grandson, Joe (Connie) Peet of Hudson; granddaughter, Amber (Brad) Harrington of Garwin; four great-grandchildren, AbiJo, Rich, Cambry and Cali; longtime companion, Herman Gansemer; sister-in-law, Marilyn Wright; and also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Lelah was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard; son, Douglas; and one brother, Marion.
A memorial fund in Lelah's memory has been established.
