Derral L. Power, 68, of Coggon, passed away Monday, Sept. 21, 2015. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at United Parish Church, Coggon, conducted by Pastor Stephen Bush. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City. Burial: Coggon Cemetery, with military honors by Coggon Legion Post 362.
Survivors include his daughter, Gina (Alex) Rogers; sisters, Donna (Truman) Hanson, Colleen Kula and Marlene (Joe) Nagel; and brother, Don (Pat) Power.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ike and Beulah; wife, Sherry; and his brother, Virgil Power.
Derral was born July 31, 1947, to Lauren "Ike" and Beulah (Hagerman) Power near Central City, Iowa. After graduating from high school, he then served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Derral then married Sherry O'Hara on Sept. 14, 1974. He was employed at Iowa Manu-facturing, the city of Coggon, and then later at Mount Mercy University.
