Florence T. Phillips, 95, died peacefully on Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at Windmill Manor, surrounded by family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Rudolph Juarez officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Florence was born April 7, 1922, in Johnson County, Iowa, the daughter of Neil and Dolena Schaffer Nolan. Florence married C.W. "Bill" Phillips in Iowa City.
Florence was a lifelong member of St. Patrick Church, East Lucas Township Club and Pleasant Valley Club. Most important to Florence was her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to dance.
The family extends their appreciation to all the staff at Windmill Manor.
Florence is survived by her loving husband, Bill, and their sons, Allan (Linda) Phillips of West Branch and Dale Phillips of Solon; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Curt; grandson, Brian; and her siblings, Catherine Martin and Francis, Leo and Paul Nolan.
