Vogel, Elaine M.
Elaine M. Vogel, 80, of Jesup, died Friday, July 13, 2012. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Jesup, burial St. Athanasius Cemetery. Visitation 2:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at White Funeral Home, Jesup, with a 3 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation continues for one hour before services Wednesday at the church.
Survived by husband, Jim of Jesup; five sons, Steve (Connie) of Jesup, Joe (Kris) of Waterloo, Pat of Waterloo, Tim (Cindy) of Neepawa, Manitoba, Canada and Marty (Rhonda) of Blairstown; six daughters, Sherri Schmitt of Jesup, Peg (Dave) Gilchrist of Reasnor, Beth Augustine of Jesup, Ann (Lowell) Fenner of Iowa City, Nancy (Neil) Steege of Newhall and Barb (Harold) Murtha of Victor; 28 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; one brother, Myron Oswald of Harpers Ferry; and one sister, Bernice Mixdorf of Cedar Falls.
Preceded in death by, one great-granddaughter, Hannah Pint; two brothers, Clarence and Melvin Oswald; three sisters, Esther Hudson, Erma Husome and Irene Maxson; and son-in-law, Steven Schmitt.
Elaine taught fourth grade at Wapsie Valley Schools before retirement.
Memorials directed to Smile Train, Jesup Public Library and Cedar Valley Hospice.
