Gregory, Elsie Anna
Elsie Anna Gregory, 95, a resident of Mercy Hallmar, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center of natural causes. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Jack Kendall will officiate. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Per Elsie's request her casket will be closed.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen (Tom) Martin of Iowa City and Shirley Fenchel of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2006 and a brother, Anton Mrazek.
Elsie was born Aug. 21, 1916, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Anton and Anna Michalec Mrazek and graduated from Grant Senior High School in 1934. She married Virgil Gregory on Sept. 14, 1934, in Marengo.
Elsie loved her family and enjoyed all the family gatherings as she loved being with people. She enjoyed the outdoors and all God's gifts of nature. Her gardens were her pride and joy.
The family would like to express their thanks to Mercy Hospice, Mercy Care Hallmar and to Dr. Hogenson for the excellent care given to Elsie.
