Steven Kehl, 85, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center. Memorial Service will be 1 p.m. Monday, April 14, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends may call one hour before the service Monday at the chapel. Inurnment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Elizabeth Kehl of Cedar Rapids; children, Siegfried (Cindy) Kehl of Center Point and Roswitha "Rita" Kehl and fiance Roger Guyer of Cedar Rapids; grandson, Steven (Michelle) Michalec of Vinton; great-grandchild, Brooklynn Michalec, and great-great-grandchild, Noah Michalec; step-granddaughter, Summer Algharib, and stepgreat-grandchildren, Ali, Anwir and Faith Algharib.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Adam Kehl.
Steven Kehl was born June 27, 1928, in Yugoslavia, the son of Jacob and Louise (Mlinaric) Kehl. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Richardt on Feb. 3, 1951, in Austria. In 1955, he immigrated, with his family, to the United States. Steven worked for Allis-Chalmers and Harnischfeger Co. until he retired.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and socializing with his many friends.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
