BETTY DALE MANGOLD
Cedar Rapids
Betty Dale Mangold, 73, passed away at her home Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at All Saints Church, with a gathering of life one hour before Mass. Gathering will continue after Mass at Knights of Columbus Post 5677.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
Betty was born Feb. 27, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas, to Betty and Dale Westreman. Betty met her love, Francis Mangold, at Randolph Field Air Force Base and they were married in 1963. After marriage she spent time with her new family in Ryan, Iowa, until Francis returned from service in the Air Force. They soon started a family in Cedar Rapids with the birth of their first child, Sherry Mangold, and two boys, David and John, to follow.
She was well-known as a waitress at the old Armstrong's building, where she always had a smile on her face and loved to serve others. She was a selfless woman who cared more about the happiness of her family then her own.
Survivors include a sister, Michael; husband, Francis; daughter, Sherry; sons, David and John; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Betty was preceded in death by her father, mother, seven brothers, seven sisters, a daughter in-law and one grandchild.
We, her children, would like to thank her for all she had done for us.
