Mangold, Evelyn J.
Evelyn J. Mangold, 74, of Marengo, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at her home. Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Marengo, with the Rev. Andrew Gray officiating. Burial will be in Marengo Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo.
A memorial fund has been established.
Evelyn is survived by her son, Tim J. Mangold Sr. and wife Tracy of Marengo; two grandsons, T.J. Mangold Jr. (Nicole) of Port Hueneme, Calif., and Tyler Max Mangold of Marengo; a great-granddaughter, Brook Lynn Mangold; a sister, M. Deloris Dietrich (Dave) of Williamsburg; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Mangold in 2005; two brothers, Carroll Simpson in 1998 and Dreith Simpson in infancy; and a stepson, Paul Mangold in 1968.
Evelyn Judith Simpson was born Oct. 15, 1938, in rural Ladora, Iowa, the daughter of Max Simpson and Emily C. Misel Simpson. She graduated from Marengo High School in 1956. Evelyn was employed at the University of Iowa Child Health Specialty Clinic, Iowa City, for over 45 years. She was united in marriage to William Paul Mangold on Oct. 2, 1965, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Marengo.
Evelyn was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Marengo. She enjoyed working on genealogy and also taking her grandchildren shopping and out to eat.
