Geraldine M. Burian,
82, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, July 12, 2015, at Garnett Place in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 16, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Marion. Inurnment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Geraldine M. Burian was born on Oct. 19, 1932, to Thomas and Verna Wilaby Stanbro in Iowa Falls, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Lumir Burian on Oct. 14, 1950, in Marion, Iowa. Lumir passed away in 2002. Geraldine enjoyed singing and spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend to many.
She is survived by her children, LuAnn (Paul) Hoffner of Clarence, David Burian of Cedar Rapids, Verna (Rick Bennett) Burian of Anamosa and Jeffrey (Chris) Burian of Cedar Rapids; a brother, David Stanbro of Florida; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; special friend, Arnie; and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three sisters, JoAnn Moore, Delores Yeisley and Marlys Maske.
