Edna Irene Broussard, 76, of Princeton, Mo., formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, Aug. 1, 2016, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral service: 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Edna was born Sept. 7, 1939, the daughter of Raymond and Naomi (Boaz) Ealy, in Matteson, Ill. On July 4, 1967, she married Gerald Broussard in Cedar Rapids. Edna enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and going for walks. Her greatest loves in life were her children and grandchildren. Most of all, she loved spending time with them and will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald; six children, DeeAnn (Al) Boots, Debbie Sue Holladay, Ernest Holladay Jr., Dawn Kneisel, Delana (Mark) Bahr and Jerry Broussard; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; seven sisters; two brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, one great-grandchild and one sister.
