Pugh, Roy E.
Roy E. Pugh, 78, of Springville, died Saturday, April 24, 2010. at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, of natural causes. Family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. Graveside services: 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 3, 2010, at the Urbana Cemetery, Urbana, by the Rev. Mark F. Lofquist.
Roy is survived by his wife, Doris; a son, Philip (Regina) Pugh of Gladstone, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Cindy Herr of Alaska; three grandchildren, Daniel Pugh, Bonnie Herr and Eric Boots; two great-grandchildren, Tréonna and Nakiaya; and three sisters, Belva (Bill) Fogwell of Williamsburg, Betty (Don) Rogan of Bella Vista, Ark., and Naoma (Norman) Emmack of Omaha, Neb.
Roy was born Oct. 12, 1931, in Champion, Neb., the son of Bud and Nellie (Browning) Pugh. He graduated in 1950 from Imperial High School, Imperial, Neb. On Oct. 1, 1966, Roy was united in marriage to Doris Evens by the Justice of the Peace in Marion. Roy served in the United States Navy. He worked as a tool and dye maker at the Square D Company for 39½ years. Roy was a member of the Springville American Legion.
