Patricia J. "Pat" Coppess, 85, of Stanwood, died Jan. 16, 2015, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home, Tipton. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, at the Stanwood Union Church, by the Rev. Phil Leipold. Burial will be at a later date in Stanwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence.
Born Sept. 29, 1929, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Louis R. and Mildred V. Howe Crock, she married Robert M. "Bob" Coppess Jr. on Aug. 20, 1950, at the Stanwood Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cedar Manor Nursing Home.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; sons, Robert M. "Max" III (Grace) of Stanwood, Michael W. (Sue) of Indianola, David L. (Deana) of Urbandale, W. Brent (Debbie) of Buffalo Grove, Ill., Brian B. (Patty) of Urbandale and Cameron S. (Becky) of West Des Moines; daughter, M. Dawn (Tom) Weiland of Stanwood; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Sandy Boots and Donna Spooner.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
