Samuel Guzzo, 91, of Wyoming, Iowa, passed away surrounded by family on Monday, Jan. 1, 2018. Born in Streator, Ill., on June 6, 1926, Sam was a 56-year resident of Wyoming.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 4, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Wyoming. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, Jan. 5, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oxford Junction. Burial will be held at the Wyoming Cemetery.
Sam was a proud WWII veteran where he served as a Second Class Gunner's Mate on the destroyer USS Kline.
Sam and Audrey Randolph were united in marriage on June 1, 1947, in Rock Island, Ill. Together they were blessed with 10 children: Ann Osterkamp, Rosemary Hiatt, Priscilla (Charlie) Christie, Audrey Biere, Susan (Bill) Koranda, Samuel (friend Carol Hunt) Guzzo, Loretta (Jim) Risner, Anthony Guzzo, Christine (Peter) Vickery and Maria (Dennis) Boots; 19 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
