ERNEST "ERNIE" HOLLADAY SR.
Cedar Rapids
Ernest "Ernie" L. Holladay Sr., 89, a resident of Willow Gardens Care Center, Marion, passed away there Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014. Per his request, there will be no services. Private family burial will be at the Mount Vernon Cemetery at a later date. Papich-Kuba Funeral Service is serving the family.
Ernie is survived by three children, Dee Ann (Al) Boots, Marion, Deb (Bill) Holladay, Shellsburg, and Ernie Holladay Jr., Brandon; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; one brother; and one great-granddaughter.
Ernie was born Oct. 17, 1925. He enjoyed the many hours his brother, Ron, spent with him at the two care centers he has lived in over the past seven years. Ernie enjoyed fishing, gardening, going for walks, friends, family, the Cubs and Iowa Hawkeye football.
