Inskeep, Robert W. 'Bob'
Robert (Bob) W. Inskeep, 56, of 6824 Boxwood Lane NE, died Thursday, July 30, 2009, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Per Bob's request there will be no visitation or service. The Cremation Society of Eastern-Central-Western Iowa is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his sister, Vicki (Randy) Heeren, and brother, Michael (Connie) Bamsey, all of Cedar Rapids; half-sisters, Judy (Joe) Adams of Lake Oswego, Ore., Cheryl (Detlef) Matthies of Latlonda, Calif., Christa Michener of Greeley, Colo., Stephine (Robert) Mengis of Medford, Ore., and Michelle Slack of Evans, Colo.; and two half-brothers, Kevin (Rosie) Inskeep and David Inskeep, all of Greeley, Colo. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and his special girls, Sidney Garnet and Natalie Maye.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Genevieve (Sheets), Leonard Bamsey, Kenneth and Shirley Inskeep; siblings, Mary Elizabeth and William (Bill) Inskeep; and many aunts, uncles and grandparents.
Bob was born on Nov. 21, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Kenneth and Genevieve Sheets Inskeep. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1971 and attended Fullerton Jr. College in Fullerton, Calif., and Kirkwood Community College where he studied respiratory therapy. He was a roofer by choice and worked for several roofing companies in Iowa and across the country. He proudly served in the Navy and his favorite hobbies included hunting, fishing, all outdoor activities, and drinking beer.
Memorial donations may be given to Hospice of Mercy in Bob's name.
