Enforce our immigration laws

To the editor:
Regarding Kay Graber's March 15 letter 'Our immigration system is broken”:
It's not the system that's broken and enforced, but the legal system and laws not being enforced. When someone comes here illegally, they are breaking the law becoming a type of criminal. When they get caught trying to use false documentation to get a driver's license they are committing fraud and breaking the law. Whether or not this pastor served his sentence isn't the problem. Our legal system didn't catch him being here illegally then and they should have. Whether people hide under the radar for a minute or years doesn't change the fact they have broken the law. No one demonstrates when a robber or murderer goes to jail and breaks up their family. Come here the right way and no problem.
I'm sure he is a nice man, but he made the mistake of breaking the law, be it years ago. Time doesn't fix the fact and not getting caught doesn't change that either.
