McMann, Mildred A.
Mildred A. McMann, 92, a resident of Northbrook Manor, died there Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011. Services: 10 a.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial: 1:30 p.m. Monday at Calvary Cemetery in Marengo.
Survivors include her sons, Lawrence (Janis) McMann of Cedar Rapids and Leo (Kathie) McMann of St. Paul, Minn.; 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Urban Francis McMann; a son, Richard McMann; two brothers, Carl and Leo; and three sisters, Leona, Florence and Leta.
Mildred was born Jan. 9, 1919, in rural Iowa County, the daughter of Charles and Bertha (Kruse) Possehl. She married Urban Francis McMann on March 12, 1935, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Marengo. Mildred and her husband farmed for 19 years in Iowa County and was a 50-year member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Mildred worked for Armstrong's Department Store and Paramount Pharmacy.
She love gardening, baking and will always be remembered for her famous Christmas cookies.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
