Memories from the caucuses of 2008

In 2008, I was a precinct captain for Hillary Clinton. It was a busy time and I learned a lot. In dealing with the program managers, they revealed fairly early on a concern about a young man named Barack Obama rising in the polls. I was so focused on Hillary Clinton I went about my business.
The night of the caucus Hillary ordered red roses to be passed out to voters in our section. As I sat down to listen to the speeches of candidates, I overheard a little girl in the seat in front of me ask who the rose was from. Her mother said it was from Hillary Clinton. The little girl's face lit up with a smile from ear to ear. She also asked if a woman can run for president too and her mother said yes.
I'll never forget that little girl's face and wish I had the chance to tell Hillary.
