Harvey William Fascher, 83, of Manchester, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester.
He was born March 19, 1931, in Farmersburg Township near Elkader, the son of William Carl and Elsie (Hagen) Fascher. Harvey was raised in rural Clayton County and graduated from Elkader High School in 1949.
Harvey served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. On June 26, 1960, Harvey was united in marriage to Bonnie Nadine Aldrich at the Coggon Methodist Church. Together they farmed near Coggon. Harvey also was owner-operator of Fascher Mobile Milling in Guttenberg and Coggon.
Harvey was a member of First Lutheran Church, where he served as a president and was a treasurer for 11 years. He also was active in Linn County Farm Bureau and was legislative chairman for 35 years and was a member of Marion American Legion Post 298.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Fascher of Manchester; and his brother, Valmah L. (Imogene) Fascher of Naples, Fla.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Helen Bahls, who died Feb. 13, 2010.

Visitation: 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester and one hour before the service Tuesday at First Lutheran Church. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, at First Lutheran Church, Manchester, with the Rev. Tony D. Ede officiating. Interment: 2 p.m., Coggon Cemetery, Coggon, with military rites by Coggon American Legion Post 362 and Iowa Honor Guard.
