Holliday, L. Viola
L. Viola Holliday, 84, of 1056 H Ave. NW, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Friday. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a son, David (Mary) of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Donna (Jerry) Hare of Hideaway, Texas, and Deb (Ed Dudley) Kloos of Central City; four sisters, Dorothy, Doris, Mary and Shirley; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one sister and one brother.
Viola was born March 19, 1925, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of William and Ora Kennedy Kidder. She married Carrol D. Holliday on Sept. 30, 1945, in Cedar Rapids. He died in 2003. Viola worked at MNB and Armstrong's department store in housekeeping as well as a day care provider for many years. She was a member of First Church of the Open Bible.
Viola enjoyed gardening, listening to music and especially time spent with her beloved family.
A memorial fund has been established in Viola's name.
