Debes, Jeffery Eric
Jeffery Eric Debes, 62, of Elkader, died at the Elkader Care Center on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, after a long and courageous battle with Huntington's disease.
He was born Dec. 17, 1949, in Oelwein, the son of Verne L. and Margaret R. (Nading) Debes. Jeffery was raised and educated in Elkader, graduating from Elkader High School. Jeff was employed as a veterinarian assistant the majority of his life. He had resided in Cedar Rapids and Edgewood. For the last five years he made his home at the Elkader Care Center.
Survivors include his sister, Leilani Morgan of Santa Clara, Utah; and a special uncle, Russell (Ruth) Nading of Marion.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings.

At Jeffery's request, his body was donated to the University of Iowa.
There will be no services.
Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Strawberry Point is assisting the family.
