Coach’s punishment was unfairly harsh

Big Ten officials hand out reprimands like the officials call fouls: unequally.
I can remember other coaches in basketball and football losing their tempers, and in some cases, hitting players and officials with their hands and hats and chairs flying across courts and equipment across fields of play. The very thing that our (University of Iowa) coach lost his cool over is not the worst I've seen. The entire game until after he was ejected was lopsided on calls.
I'm glad everyone is backing him, but the fine and two technical fouls and suspension are too harsh, and heavier penalties than have been placed on other coaches in the past.
These new rules are going to lead to more fouls being called and more tempers flaring. It's going to be hard to be fair and equal on calls and keep the game going. It's like a player faking injury to kill momentum and the natural pace of the game gets lost. Good job, Fran McCaffery.
Hawkeye through and through, good or bad.
