GERALDINE TODD
Cedar Rapids
Geraldine "Gerri" Todd, 76, of Cedar Rapids, passed away in her home on June 24, 2014, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Geraldine was born to Charles and Margie McWilliams in Brodhead, Ky., on March 27, 1938. She grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, with her parents and brother Chuck. She was a graduate of Walnut Hills High School.
Gerri married Lee Vincent Todd in 1963, just days after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. She gave birth to her only child, Mark, in 1965. Lee and Gerri were married for 35 years before Lee's death in 1999. Lee's business career took them to California, Washington, Ohio, Kentucky and Iowa. They also lived in Scottsdale, Ariz., for six years.
Gerri is survived by her son, Mark (Denise); and four grandchildren, McCauley, Abigail, Andrew and McKenzie.
One of Gerri's passions was buying and selling antique glassware, dolls and jewelry. She also enjoyed breeding and showing miniature poodles and West Highland white terriers. Her breeding line, Todd Crest, successfully produced many American and Canadian championship dogs.
Other passions in her later years included sports and cars. She loved following Michael Jordan, Lebron James, Ohio State Buckeye football and driving her Mitsubishi Spyder convertible. She also enjoyed watching her grandsons play football and basketball.
Her love, support and fighting spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Services will be private.
In lieu of cards and flowers, donations are encouraged to The American Cancer Society and Hospice of Mercy.
