Scandridge, Connie Lee
Connie Lee Scandridge, 58, of Hartwick, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at her home. A funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday, April 26, at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Victor. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Victor. Visitation will be Sunday at Smith Funeral Home in Victor from noon until 8 p.m., with the family present to greet friends from 4 until 7 p.m.
Connie was born April 14, 1952, in Grinnell, the daughter of LaVerne and Earlene Heitman Jahlas. She was raised in the Victor area and was a 1970 graduate of HLV High School. On Aug. 29, 1970, she was united in marriage to Daniel J. Scandridge at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Victor. The couple lived in Victor for a year-and-a-half before making their home in rural Hartwick. She was employed as a waitress at the Victorian Inn near Victor and later with Big G in Marengo. She then was employed as deli manager at the Pronto Market in Victor until September 2006.
Survivors include her husband, Dan of Hartwick; two children, Tanya (Jim) Rajtora of Victor and Paul John Scandridge of Cedar Rapids; her parents, LaVerne and Earlene Jahlas of Victor; one sister, Vickie (Bill) Roberts of Victor; four brothers, Kevin (LuAnn) Jahlas of Brooklyn and Kim (Chris) Jahlas, Rick Jahlas and Brad (Connie) Jahlas, all of Victor; her mother-in-law, Mary Scandridge of Victor; other brothers and sisters- in-law, Jim and Jeannine Scandridge of Victor and Jean and Arthur Pozzi of Bend, Ore.; three grandchildren, Jenna Rajtora of Victor and Cayce and Swayze Rajtora of Wellford, S.C.; 14 nieces and nephews; eight great-nieces and great-nephews; and one great-great-niece.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Art and Edna Cheney and William and Maria Jahlas; her father-in-law, Paul Scandridge; and one nephew, Joshua Roberts.
