Jim Center, 70, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully Monday, Sept. 14, 2015, at home. Please visit "Jim Lee" Facebook page for information regarding a celebration of life. Arrangements made by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Penny Center; children, Jimmie (Cindy) Center, Kendra Fitch, Dana (Chuck) Trakel, Aaron Center, Zach (Kristin) Tharp and Chris (Ashley) Tharp; a sister, Nancy (Dick) Fickey; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim was born May 18, 1945, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son of Carroll and Leona (Bixler) Center. He married Kay Boots and had four children. Jim later married Penny Tharp on April 12, 1991. He worked for Cherry-Burrell from 1965 to 2006. Jim was a Pontiac enthusiast.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be given to the University of Iowa Lung Transplant Center in memory of Jim.
