Georgie Jean, 71, was born to Roy and Kattie Wooten on Sept. 20, 1944, and joined her Lord on April 28, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Lee Melson; parents, Roy and Kattie; and sisters, Oma Lee Laughlin (Sid) and Juanita Delitha Fisher (Glen).
She is survived by Jim Weatherbee; son, Stephen Lee Melson; daughter, Pamla Jean (PJ) Schulze (Cindy); brother, Roy Alva (R.J.) Wooten (Patricia) and Stephen Wesley Wooten; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside celebration of life was 2 p.m. Monday, May 2, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids.
