Boyd, James 'Jim' Lee
James “Jim” Lee Boyd, 68, of North Liberty, passed away Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, at Windmill Manor Care Center from cancer. Graveside Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at West Chester Cemetery, West Chester. Family will greet friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Lensings Oak Hill, 210 Holiday Rd., Coralville.
Jim is survived by his son, Bill (Penny) Boyd of North Liberty; grandsons, Justin and Jeromy Boyd; and a special friend, Clara Potter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Jim was born on March 1, 1941, in Farmington to Clyde and Addie (Muntz) Boyd. He married Rosemary Stancer on Oct. 29, 1960. She passed away in January 1998. Jim worked at Kaizers Quarry for more than 30 years and then he worked at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in housekeeping for 10 years until his retirement.
Jim enjoyed listening to music, watching NASCAR, hunting with his son and grandsons and going to the casino.
