Robert Gene "Bob" Bork, 78, of Postville, died Saturday, March, 4, 2017, at his home in Postville, surrounded by his family.
Robert Gene was born June 9, 1938, in Carpenter, Iowa, to Walter and Mildred (Koehler) Bork.
Bob graduated from Cresco High School in 1956. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1957 and served honorably until 1961. He lived most of his remaining years in Postville, Bob loved trout fishing with his son, Jim, and enjoyed hunting, bowling and watching golf. He took great pride in caring for his roses.
Bob is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Bugenhagen) Bork; three children, James Bork of Postville, Lonnie Lyngaas of Marion and Jodi (Ryan) Koch of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, Taneasha Gingerich, Brandon Bork, Dylan Bork, Conner Koch, Rylee Koch and Kaitlin Koch; great-granddaughter, Sophia Gingerich; sister, Midge Mikesell of Elgin, Ill.; and nephew, Karl Mikesell of White Rock, N.M.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mildred Bork; and son, Richard Bork.
The family would like to thank St. Croix Hospice of Strawberry Point.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Postville. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 9, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, with the Rev. Lynn Noel as officiant. Inurnment will follow in Postville Cemetery, Postville, with full military rites.
