CAROLYN "CONNIE" GRACE LEGRAND

Carolyn "Connie" Grace LeGrand, 55, of Norway, Iowa, passed away Friday, May 11, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City following a strong fight with an extended illness. Services are at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Norway, with Father Craig Steimel officiating. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, at St. Michael Parish Hall.

Connie was born Feb. 25, 1963, to Donald and Marjorie (Thome) Simon. She graduated from Norway High School. Following high school, she joined the work force and began her career at Whirlpool in Amana, where she worked for 27 years. On Oct. 14, 1988, Carolyn married Mike LeGrand at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids.

Connie enjoyed the fine things in life, from animals to garage sales, weekend trips to shopping, going to the movies and spending time with friends. Above all, she loved being a grandma to her nine grandchildren. She was a great wife, mother and friend who was loved by all.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 29 years, Mike LeGrand of Norway; children, Destiny (Steve Jensen) LeGrand of Cedar Rapids and Donny (Emily) LeGrand of Norway; stepchildren, Andrew (Amanda) Jeffery-LeGrand of Illinois and Becca (Rex) Hulme of Cedar Rapids; siblings, Debbie (Mike) Hamed of Cedar Rapids, Cathy Simon of Cedar Rapids, Tom Simon of Blairstown, Dan Simon of Marengo and Jim (Terri) Simon of Watkins; grandchildren, Tyler, Lila, Addy, Ryker, Logan, Izzy, Royce, Levi and Walker; and many more loving family and friends.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Bernard Plotz; and stepdaughter, Nicole LeGrand.

Brosh Funeral Service of Norway is assisting the family in their time of need.
