Eugene Thomas Plotz, 85, of Oxford, formerly of Williamsburg, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, following an extended illness. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Williamsburg, by the Rev. Thomas Ogilvie. Burial: St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Williamsburg, with military honors. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo.
A memorial fund has been established.
Eugene is survived by his wife, Iola Grauer Plotz; a son, Kenneth Plotz of
Williamsburg; a daughter, Susan (Scott) Yung of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Kelley (Jeremy) Reierson, Barry (Ashlee) Plotz, Shelley Plotz (Jason Geltz), Tammy (Richard) Oftedahl and Carrie (Eric) Mercer; 15 great-grandchildren, Kylie, Kaley, Kelby, Jeremy Reierson, Braden and Braylee Plotz, Trenton, Allie, Preston, Lillie Geltz, Jaden Pfannebecker, Peyton and Melisa Spreeman, Gaige and Easton Mercer; a stepson, Dennis (Barb) Grauer; a stepdaughter, Sue Ellen Grauer; four stepgrandchildren, Anna (Chris) Boals, Aaren Grauer, Tyler Grauer and Cara Grauer; a stepgreat-grandson, Caleb Boals; a sister, Mary Ellen (Max) Warren; a brother, Ralph (Linda) Plotz; and two sisters-in-law, Joyce Plotz and Judie Rosenbalm.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Selma Wardenburg Plotz; his parents, Charlie and Gertie Kimm Plotz; and three brothers, Ronald, Richard and Bernard Plotz.
