Davis W. Johnson, 76, of Decorah, Iowa, died Saturday, March 27, 2021, peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his loving family at home, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Private family funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 2, at Washington Prairie Lutheran Church in rural Decorah, with the Rev. Dr. Jennifer Edinger officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Public Visitation to greet the family will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 1, at Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah.
In consideration of concerns regarding COVID-19, wearing of a mask and social distancing is required.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Lillian; his brother, Dennis; and his mother and father-in-law, Vernon and Delores Rovang.
Davis is survived by his wife, Shirley; his two sons, Darin (Misty) and Devin (Carmen); his grandchildren, Jace, Emma, Dakota, Dillan and Demi; his siblings, Wanda (Ron) Hemesath and Mark Johnson; sister-in-law, Linda Johnson; brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Betty Schuman; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Fjelstul Funeral Home in Decorah is serving the family.
