Roe, Patrick Kelly
Patrick Kelly Roe, 69, of 17325 Cisco Court, Hesperia, Calif., died Saturday, July 24, 2010, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, after a short illness. Services: 10 a.m. Monday, St. Michael Catholic Church, Norway, by the Rev. Brian Dellaert. Burial: St. Michael Cemetery, Norway. A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. tonight at Teahen Chapel, Walford where friends may visit Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Monday after 9 a.m. at the church.
Pat was born August 8, 1940 in Norway, the son of Oakley and Elizabeth Kelly Roe. He graduated in 1958 from Norway High School and attended Parson College. Pat married Mary Teahen on August 25, 1962 in Cedar Rapids and moved to California in 1976. Pat retired in 2008 as a District Sales Manager for the MPH Industries of Owensboro, Ken., after 31 years. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Pat is survived by his wife, Mary; two sons, Tim (Shari) Roe of Kennesaw, Ga., and Shawn (Lori) Roe, of Victorville, Calif.; two daughters, Kelly (Allen) Peterson of Big Bear City, Calif., and Shannon Heck of Claremont, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; a brother, Terrance Roe of Loma Linda, Calif.; three sisters, Maureen (Ron) Salat of Spearfish, S.D., Ellen (Mark) Kashino of Sun Valley, Idaho, and Kathy Schmid of Middle Amana.
His parents; a brother, Michael Roe; and a brother-in-law, Michael Schmid, who died earlier this month, preceded Pat in death.
Pat always looked forward to pheasant hunting with his friends in the Norway area, fishing with his grandchildren, and celebrating Christmas and the Fourth of July. Time with his family brought him great happiness. Pat loved the community of Norway and always considered it his home. Pat enjoyed being active with the Tea Party movement and together with his wife began a Tea Party group in Hesperia.
