Sean M. Kelly, 45, died Sunday, May 11, 2014, at his home following a long illness. Services: 10 a.m. Friday, May 16, at St. Jude Catholic Church by the Rev. Mark Reasoner. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery. A prayer vigil will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. and again after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
Sean is survived by his wife, Julie; two sons, Eric and Jared; mother, Michele; brother, John; father and mother-in-law, Mike and Barb Driscoll, all of Cedar Rapids; brother-in-law, Mike (Kristi) Driscoll and their children, Mitch, Logan and Cooper of Johnston; sister-in-law, Jenny (Dan) Stotlar and their children, Luke and Olivia of Tiffin; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father,
Michael.
Sean Michael was born Feb. 2, 1969, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Michael and Michele (Houlahan) Kelly. He married Julie Ann Driscoll on May 23, 1992, in
Cedar Rapids. Sean was a
senior technician with Square D-Schneider Electric, where he was employed since 1996.
Sean enjoyed family vacations, bike riding, sailing, building and fixing things and spending time outdoors and on his family's farm. He will be remembered for being hardworking, funny, friendly and having a playful personality. Sean was always willing to offer his help to those in need. The time he spent with his family, especially his wife, Julie; and sons, Eric and Jared, were above all most important to him.
A memorial fund has been established for Sean's sons, Eric and Jared.
