Kelly, Michael A.
Michael A. Kelly, 72, of Van Horne, died Friday, April 1, 2011, at Northbrook Manor in Cedar Rapids. Per Michael's wishes, his body has been cremated. A gathering will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at the Van Horne Community Room. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family.
Michael Ambrose Kelly was born at home on April 5, 1938, to Virgil and Mary (Bevins) Kelly in Van Horne, Iowa. Michael was united in marriage to Michele Catherine Houlahan on April 16, 1968, in Springville, Iowa. Michael was a self-employed farmer and antiques dealer and he enjoyed the old west.
He is survived by his wife, Michele; two sons, Sean (Julie) Kelly of Cedar Rapids, and John Kelly of Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandsons, Eric and Jared Kelly; and one brother, James (Alene) Kelly of Belle Plaine.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Joyce McCormack and Janice Bryant; and two brothers, Monte and Colin Kelly.
A memorial fund has been established by the family.
