Sheriff, Timothy 'Tim' R. Sr.
Timothy “Tim” R. Sheriff Sr., 54, of Fort Scott, Kan., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House, Hiawatha. Graveside service: 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements with Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his former wife, Joyce and their seven children, Michell and John Higgins of California, Timothy Sheriff Jr. of Fort Scott, Shawn and Chandra of Colorado, Melissa and Philip Stevens, Andrew Sheriff, Marie Sheriff and Cody Sheriff, all of Kansas; 15 grandchildren; sister, Nancy Sisco of Marion; and brothers, Rick of Cedar Rapids, Ron (Sharon) of Spencer. and Gary of Las Vegas, Nev.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Mae Sheriff; brother, George Sheriff Jr; and sister, Kathy Walton.
Tim was born July 13, 1956, the son of George and Betty Mae (Grooms) Sheriff Sr. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Tim enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, working on cars and most of all spending time with his children and family.
