LAVONNE LOUISE HUEBNER

LaVonne Louise Huebner, 82, of Reedsburg, Wis., passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016. She was born Jan. 20, 1934, in Kings, Ill., the daughter of Earl and Amy (Lathrop) Hayes. She met her husband, the love of her life, while pursuing her nursing degree at the University of Dubuque. She then continued her education at Presbyterian-St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago and her master's degree in psychiatric nursing from the University of Iowa.
LaVonne loved music, playing the piano and singing, gardening, sewing, knitting, traveling, playing board games, working on puzzles and reading. Her Christian faith was always important in her life. Together with her husband they ministered to Presbyterian churches in Reinbeck, Waterloo and Cedar Rapids and congregational churches in Adams and Big Springs, Wis. Missionary work also took them to Kentucky, Honduras and Papua New Guinea.
LaVonne is survived by her husband of 61 years, Earl; children, Deborah (John) Holmes of Colona, Ill., Mary Hafenbreadl of Stevens Point, Wis., Nancy (Randal) Kleitsch of Stevens Point and Sharon (Mark) Deisinger of Shoreview, Minn.; grandchildren, John (Julie) H., Rebekah H., Andrew (Lindsay) K., David K., Stephen (Michelle) K., Joshua (Rachel) K., Elizabeth K., Hannah K., Philip K., Christina K., Angela (Michael) D., Daniel D., Thomas D. and Aaron D.; siblings, Adelaide (Pablo) Chavez, Lowell (Jeanne) Hayes and Emery (Jeanine) Hayes; along with other relatives and friends.
Services for LaVonne Louise Huebner will be conducted at noon Friday, July 15, at Farber Funeral Home in Reedsburg, Wis., with Pastor Christian McShaffrey officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until services Friday at the funeral home.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
The Farber Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
