Foster, Rowene
Rowene Foster, 94, of Cedar Rapids, died March 18, 2011. Per her wishes, no visitation or service will be held. Inurnment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
She is survived by her brother, Donald Stevens, and his wife, Ellen, of Cedar Rapids.
She was born May 2, 1916, in Faribault, Minn., to Roy and Elizabeth (Dapper) Stevens. She was raised in Cedar Rapids by her father and stepmother, Ellen (Sawyer). She earned her BA from Coe College and MS from the University of Iowa. Rowene married Lloyd B. Foster on Sept. 1, 1940. In 1946, they moved to Chicago, where she lived until returning to Cedar Rapids in 2003.
