Joseph R. Kremer, 64, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at his home. Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 1, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday, with a visitation beginning an hour before, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. Christopher Podhajsky officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites.
Joseph Robert Kremer was born April 8, 1950, to Donald and Rita Johnson Kremer in Dubuque, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Norma Sbiral on Oct. 4, 2004, in Cedar Rapids. Joseph proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam.
He worked as an engineer and salesman for IPI from 1977 to 2009. Joseph was a jack-of-all-trades. He enjoyed landscaping, remodeling and woodworking.
He will be forever remembered as a loving, family man who would drop anything to help anyone in need. Joseph will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Norma; children, Raeline Netolicky of North Liberty, Robert (Rica Santiago) Kremer of Los Angeles, Calif., Jessica Kremer of Cedar Rapids and Sarah Kremer of Kansas City, Kan.; grandchildren, Robert Netolicky, Erin Netolicky, Meikaella Neal, Toby Neal and Alexis Jensen; his mother, Rita Kremer of Dubuque; two brothers; five sisters; many loving nieces and nephews; and two special companion dogs, Lacy and Scooter.
Joseph was preceded in death by his father and one sister.
