LaGrange, Robert L.
UPDATED INFORMATION
Robert L. LaGrange, 71, of 823 D Ave. NW, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital after a sudden illness. Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Rick Gail will officiate. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Survivors include his wife, Edith; three daughters, Lavonnia LaGrange of Clermont, Fla., Suzanne (Nathan) Loehr of Anamosa and Diana (Mark) Mangas of Shellsburg; two sons, Steven (Cerise) and Richard and his fiancee, Karen, both of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Harvey (Beverly) and Tom; two sisters, Marilyn and Joanie; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.
Bob was born Nov. 6, 1939, in Iowa City, the son of Fred and Marie Heck LaGrange. He married Edith L. Romig on April 2, 1960, in Cedar Rapids. Bob was a welder at Johnson Gas and Appliance and retired from there after more than 40 years of service.
He was a member of First Assembly of God and UAW Local 1349. Bob enjoyed fishing, watching the Hawkeyes, long walks and especially time he spent with his friends and beloved family.
He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial fund has been established in Bob's name.
