Robert "Bobby" J. Kriz, 62, of Solon, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, at his home. Celebration of life services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at St. John Lutheran Church in Ely with the Rev. Erika Uthe presiding. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Solon. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Brosh Chapel in Solon, located at 100 S. Cedar St.
Robert was born Sept. 14, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Leonard and Esther (Johnson) Kriz. He married Marilyn Merck on May 2, 1975. Marilyn passed away on July 15, 2008. Bob married Kim Mosley on Dec. 23, 2011.
Bob worked at City Electric/3E in Iowa City for more than 33 years, until retiring in 2013. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and most of all the time spent with his family, especially the grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife, Kim; children, Katie (Harry) King of Big Rapids, Mich., Heather (Bryce) Plathe of Mount Vernon and Ryan Kriz of Solon; grandchildren, Ryan, Victoria, Avery, Gavin, Delaney and Piper; stepchildren, Cody Walker of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and Kaylee Esther Walker of Solon; his sister, Linda (Pat) Courtney of Cedar Rapids; as well as a niece, Breann (Jason) Sells of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn; his parents; and an infant brother, Larry.
Memorials may be directed to either Iowa City Hospice and/or to St. John Lutheran Church in Ely.
