Robert L. "Skip" Fults, 71, of Coralville, passed away Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, where visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday prior to the service. Robert Lorin Fults was born Dec. 23, 1945, in Gruetli, Tenn., the son of Theron and Josephine (Brown) Fults. He lived a short time in Tennessee and spent most of his childhood in California, moving to Cedar Rapids and eventually to the Coralville area. On Dec. 6, 1975, Skip married Karen Siems in Iowa City. Over the years, he enjoyed time spent with his family, fishing, hunting, playing cards and traveling the dusty back roads of Iowa.
His family includes his wife, Karen; children, Laura Fults of Davenport, Eddie Fults (Mary) of Hills, Lisa Johnson (Ryan) of North Liberty, Angie Gorvin (Cris) of North Liberty, Clint Fults (Emily) of Tiffin, Crystal Eggers and Heather Brammer; grandchildren, Kristen, Dylan, Lexi, Buddy and Kaelyn; siblings, Ed Fults (Kat) of Cedar Rapids, Bruce Fults (Danette) of Ottumwa, Anna Britton of Florida and Joe Fults of Tennessee; and sister-in-law, Jane Fults of Newton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Leon, Hughey (Donna), Gene and Brenda Britton; and brother-in-law, Bill Britton.
