Robert "Bob" Dee, 72, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2014. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at Murdoch Funeral Home, Marion, and one hour before services at Murdoch Funeral Home on Friday.
Funeral services: 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at Murdoch Funeral Home, Marion. Burial: Campbell Cemetery, Bertram.
Bob is survived by his wife, Debbie; children, Kim (Chris) Morahan of Marion, Don (Taylor) Dee of Omaha, Neb., Robert (Amanda) Dee of Cedar Rapids, Delores (Cyril) Mize of Missouri, Donna (Tom) Mitchell of Arizona, Amy (Mark) Pyfrom of Georgia, Robb Dee of Texas, Kelli (Adam) Martin of Cedar Rapids and Chris (Justin) Warren of New Mexico; three sisters, Emily Fern (Leo) Nerbonne of California, Carol Ford of Tennessee and Dawn (Michael) D'Agnese of Florida; 16 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Harriet Dee; son, Jim Nichols; brother-in-law, Ronald Utley; and in-laws, Howard and Agnes Utley.
Bob was born Dec. 23, 1941, in Kalamazoo, Mich., to Donald Laurence Dee and Harriet (Johnson) Dee. He graduated from Portage High School and married Debora Jean Utley on Dec. 30, 1978, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He worked for 20 years as a driver for JM Swank (JRRW Transport) and for 15 years as a driver for Wholesale Feeds.
He had a deep love of children and would often take them under his wing to guide them through life's many ups and downs.
