Johnson, Amos Dean

Amos Dean Johnson, 87, of Marion, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness. Per Dean's request there will be no visitation or services. Private family inurnment of both Dean and his late wife Bonnie will be at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.

Survivors include his son, Jeff (Vickie) of Marion; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marian (Graham) Johnson; his wife, Bonnie; son, Allen L. Johnson; and two brothers, Keith and Robert L. Johnson.

Dean and Bonnie were united in marriage on Feb. 5, 1946. Bonnie died in May of 2010. Dean was a retired employee of Rockwell Collins and a Navy veteran.

The family would like to thank his caregivers, Krista and Kim, for the excellent care he received. A special thank you to Kim whom he looked forward to seeing daily.
