Robert A. Patterson, 69, of Marion, passed away Monday, March 21, 2016, at his home. In agreement with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service celebrating Robert's life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 28, at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Marion by the Rev. Dennis Johnson, the Rev. Miranda Klosterboer and the Rev. Richard Lehmann. Family will greet friends one hour before the service. A luncheon will follow the service. Arrangements are by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Patterson of Marion; daughters, Lori Campbell of Marion and Kori Walsmith of Seattle; grandchildren, Kori Downard, Amanda Williams and Alexander Campbell; great-granddaughter, Lily Neblitt; and his brother, Jerry (Ilene) Patterson of St. Clair, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Robert was born May 14, 1946, to Donald and Florence (Wendt) Patterson in Baraboo, Wis. He graduated from Pulaski High School and from General Motors Institute. Robert married Carol Clingner on July 27, 1968, in Farmington, Mich. He worked as an electrical engineer for Rockwell Collins for many years. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, East Central Brain Injury Alliance and Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Lutheran Church of the Resurrection or to the East Central Brain Injury Alliance.
