Neibert, Lari Jo 'L.J.'
Lari Jo “L.J.” Neibert, 54, of Central City, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at home. Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial: Jordan's Grove Cemetery, rural Central City.
Survivors include her husband, Maurice; five children, Robin Neibert, Heather (Josh) Johnson of Marion, Brandi Neibert of Cedar Rapids, Justin Collins of Cedar Rapids and Heather (Robert) DeLashmutt of Walford; 11 grandchildren, Torri Jo Bates, Cailey Bates, Sydnee Johnson, Hunter DeLashmutt, Noah Neibert-Miller, Robert DeLashmutt, Riley Neibert, Isabella Johnson, Wyatt DeLashmutt, Makayla Collins and Mia Johnson; and a great-grandson, Kamdyn Bates.
Also surviving are six siblings, Linda Wright (Duane Cottingham) of Peosta, Bill (Pam) Scott Jr. of New Jersey, Nick (Jeanette) Scott of Hiawatha, Lana (Keith) Jobes of Florida, Cindy (George) Light of Lisbon and Greg (Sheila) Scott of Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Colton Hardy.
Lari Jo was born Feb. 27, 1959, the daughter of Bill and Ruth (Schott) Scott in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Washington High School. On Dece. 28, 1987, she married Maurice Neibert at the Paramount Building in Cedar Rapids.
Lari Jo enjoyed gardening, picking berries, canning, quilting, crafts and puzzles. She also enjoyed bird watching and her two dogs, Mackenzie and Maya. She would do anything for anybody and loved spending time with her grandchildren most of all.
