Keister, William George

William George Keister, 61, of Hiawatha, died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center. Memorial Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be held one hour before the service, beginning at 2 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories.

Survivors include his wife, Elaine of Hiawatha; four daughters, Caroll, Jasmine, Lisa and Sheena, all of Hiawatha; two sons, Jeremie of Waterloo, and Benjamin of Cedar Falls; a brother, Ron (Janet) of Waterloo; a sister, Karen Rassmussen of Iowa Falls; and four grandchildren.

William was preceded by his parents, Lon and Pearl Wall Keister.

William George Keister was born on July 14, 1950, in Vinton, Iowa, the son of Lon and Pearl Wall Keister. William and Elaine Hergert were united in marriage on April 24, 1992, in Las Vegas, Nev. William was as an assembler at John Deere for many years. He loved history and could always complete the crossword puzzle the fastest. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping and most of all spending time with his beloved family and friends.

A memorial fund has been established for the family.
