Beverly Jean Mork, 84, of Marion, went to be with her Lord Jesus on Monday, Dec. 10, 2018. The family will greet friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at Church of the King, Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will take place at Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion is assisting the family.
Beverly was born Aug. 14, 1934, the daughter of Harold and Inez Miller, near Elkader, Iowa. She went to school in Elkader and graduated as an honor student in 1952. At that time, she went to work for Northwestern Bell. On Dec. 20, 1953, Bev married Rodger Mork. They moved from Elkader to Marion in 1957. Bev worked for Iowa Electric for 13 years. Beverly and Rodger were married 64 years, 11 months and 20 days. They were blessed with four children, Rick, Beth (Raymond) Roberts, Randy (Stephanie) Mork and Brenda (Scott) Wall. From there, Bev was blessed with nine grandchildren, Kristin Mork, Emily Mork, Ray Roberts IV, Joel Roberts, Jake Wall, Trey Wall, Rachael Mork, Sarah Mork and Isaiah Mork. Now she has four great-grandchildren, Ray Roberts V, Sylvia, Eleanor and Elvis.
Bev liked sewing and fishing in Minnesota and was a nationally recognized poet. Beverly was always a Christian person and loved her Lord Jesus. She was a member of Church of the King in Cedar Rapids.
