Wanda was born in Muhlenberg County, Ky., on Jan. 30, 1935, to Earl and Stella (Sweeny) Rager, and was always proud of her Kentucky heritage, where you say ya'll. She attended Catholic school in Elizabethtown, Ky., as a child. After graduating from high school, she went to work as a secretary with the Army at Fort Knox. From there she moved to Panama, where she worked as a civilian secretary for the Army. She proudly retired from the civil service duty after 33 years, her last assignment being at William Beaumont in Fort Bliss, Texas. She was also the bookkeeper for her friend, Carole Ann, who was a CPA. After retiring from civil service duty, she became the first city clerk for the newly incorporated Horizon City, Texas. After she moved to Iowa, she worked for KDAO radio for a short time before becoming the city clerk of Garwin, Iowa, until she was forced to retire because of health issues.
She met Wayne E Judge Sr. in Horizon City, Texas, and they later wed Aug. 12, 1995. That same year they moved to Garwin, Iowa, where they have lived since. She enjoyed traveling, attending engine shows with Wayne, wintering in Fairhope, Ala., and spending time with family and their grandchildren.
Wanda enjoyed making coffee and joking around with Wayne's engine friends while they were having their so-called "meetings" in Wayne's shop. She also became an avid Chicago Cubs fan, and Wanda and Wayne would plan their days around Cubs' games.
Wanda was an accomplished piano player, giving lessons and playing for churches for many years.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Wayne E. Judge Sr.; children, Vicki (David) Pendell and Robert Robinson; and Wayne's children whom she loved as her own, Wayne E (Julie) Judge Jr., Ann (Edward) Judge, Michael (Lauri) Judge, Melinda (Dan) Burton and John (Cari) Judge; grandchildren, Tommy Taylor, Melanie Robinson, Jacob Judge, Jasmine Judge, Adam Buhr, Nicholas Burton, Rachel Burton, Nathan Judge and Isaac Judge; and godddaughter, Elizabeth Irish Oswalt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Stella.
