Margaret Wood, 90, of Menomonie, Wis., (formerly of Cedar Rapids) passed away Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015. Memorial services: 3:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Family will greet friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Marge was born Nov. 7, 1924, in Palo, Iowa. She grew up in Center Point and graduated from Coe College. Marge taught first grade for 20 years at Hiawatha Elementary. Volunteering at Knox Presbyterian Church and in the Menomonie school district allowed Marge to continue sharing her love of learning with children. Her husband, Warren James, died in 1995.
She is survived by her sons, Dale (Barb) of Stilwell, Kan., and Dan (Kerri) of Menomonie, Wis.; four grandchildren, Scott, Tim, Lindsey and Brandon; and three great-grandchildren.
Margaret will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was a kind, loving and thoughtful mother, teacher and friend!
Memorials will be used to support the American Legion Auxiliary of Center Point.
